Trumansburg Indoor Track Write-Up: 12/21

With several meets under their belts, the Indoor Track teams are continuing a strong campaign this winter. The continuation of notable performances was extended at the “607 Invitational” at Ithaca College’s A&E Center, located on South Hill.

Keegan Moore, sprinter extraordinaire, finished 7th out of 81 runners in the 55 Meter Dash. A mere .12 of a second separated the top 7 runners.

Sydney Preston hop, skipped and jumped her way to a 5th place finish in the Triple Jump with a jump of 32’ 1”. Joining Preston in Triple Jump glory was Logan Bonn, who bounded his way to a 7th place finish with a jump of 38” 6’

First-year track athlete Caleb Ladd elevated to 5’ 6” in the High Jump, good for 8th place. Ladd is just beginning to tap into his skill, and is an exciting competitor to watch. Be sure to watch this young man throughout the rest of the Winter season, as he has proved his worth to this Raiders team.

With each meet Coaches Armitage and Hamilton have witnessed a steady improvement in several of their athletes. A number of runners achieved personal bests at the 607 meet, including McKenzie Masters, who laid down some impressive lap times on her way to a 3rd place finish in the 1500 Meter Race-walk, stepping on the gas during the last lap and distancing herself from her nearest competitors. It was Masters first time competing in the event, and it’s apparent that the freshman has got some wheels under her.

The next meet takes place on December 28th at SUNY Cortland’s Lusk Field House. Come out and cheer on our athletes as they take on the competition.
