Trumansburg Volleyball vs. Whitney Point

The Trumansburg Volleyball program has jumped out to an impressive start, with the varsity team off to a strong 5-0 record.

On Wednesday, the volleyball program traveled all the way to Whitney Point where both teams would proceed to put the hurt on the Eagles at their home gym. Coach Pat Edwards and his JV team came out of the gates firing. With the leadership of sophomores Orion Vogel-Moore, Maddie Hager, and Alexis Deraiche, the team has kicked off their campaign with a perfect record. Solid team play continued on Wednesday as the JV team swept Whitney Point away with a balanced offense and a notable defensive effort.

On the varsity side of things, a straight set victory over the Eagles proved to be no hard task, even without starter Sarah Wertis in the middle. Freshman Savannah Walden stepped up for Coach McLennan, facilitating in the middle of the court with confidence. Senior Shaylee Sprague and junior Meredith Stilwell were set up by senior Zoe Golden to barrage the helpless Whitney Point defense with their catastrophic hits from the outside.

Next up for the TBurg Volleyball program will be Dryden at home on Thursday, September 14th. Make sure you support the ladies!
