Team of the Week JV/ Varsity Volleyball

After yet another successful week for the Varsity Volleyball team, the team found themselves still undefeated. However, if you have tracked the volleyball program throughout recent years, as a fan you probably don't find yourself surprised by the team's dominant season. You would almost expect it. The Varsity team failed to disappoint this week as they took down Groton and Dryden.

Tuesday's game against Groton was a blowout. With strong defensive play from Allie Boylan-Voorheis and powerful hitting by Katelyn Artibee, the Lady Raiders swept Groton in three straight sets. The JV team won as well on Tuesday.

Thursday brought a tougher test for both volleyball teams. Although Dryden was much better than Groton, they were no match for the offensive fire power of Zoe Golden, Brilynn Winkleblack, and Shaylee Sprague. Zoe Lincoln was a digging machine on defense as well, which helped propel the Raiders to ANOTHER three set sweep. The JV team lost on Thursday, but they look to rebound when they face Southern Cayuga on Thursday.

With four regular season games remaining, Head Coach Angela McLennan looks to lead her Varsity Volleyball team to yet another undefeated season. However, the road will not be as smooth in the coming weeks as it was for Coach McLennan's team in the regular season. With looming opponents such as Thomas Edison, Tioga and Bainbridge-Guilford, the Raiders will have to play on a different level then they have played against fellow divisional Rivals such as Lansing and Dryden.
