The Trumansburg Boys and Girls Cross Country teams traveled to the beautiful Chenango Valley State Park on Saturday September 24th for the McDaniel-Baxter Invitational where over 2000 runners got a sneak preview of the State Championship course. Both teams ran well, with Molly Macqueen running a19:04 5k, good for 5th place out of 164 runners and the fastest time ever by a Trumansburg girl on the challenging Sectional course. She was joined by two other fab freshman, Ginny Clifford and Katie Feely, while Faith deCastro, Melaina Bell, Megan Feely, Mallorie Conroy and Wren Martinsen ran as a solid pack for the Blue and Gold. The team competed against schools many times our size and beat all but the largest schools. The boys were once again led by Sam Ives who torched the course in 17:54. Hot on his heels was Kevin Lampman and a Super Pac(k) Stephen Colbert would be proud of, including Dominic Mikula, Ollie Sugarman and Aiden Begeal. A number of Trumansburg runners set PR's on the course, a trend they hope continues as they move deeper into the season.

Next up for the Running Raiders is a Dual meet at Groton's Stonehedges Golf Club on Tuesday, September 27th, followed by the legendary McQuaid Invitational on Saturday. Our Raiders are approaching the bigger races in their season, so make sure you keep up with this talented bunch of runners. The future is full of opportunities that we hope our cross-country teams can seize advantage of. Go Go TBXC!
