The Trumansburg Boys and Girls Cross Country teams were in action on Tuesday, September 20th where they hosted the teams from Southern Cayuga and Groton on Senior Night. Both teams ran away with decisive victories. The boys outscored Groton by a score of 28 to 52 while Southern Cayuga was incomplete. Senior Sam Ives led the team with a second place finish in a time of 13:41 on the 2.5-mile course. The Trumansburg pack was too much for the competition, as Kevin Lampman, Dominic Mikula, Aiden Begeal, Austin Voorhees, Ollie Sugarman and G.H. Wood rounded out the scoring for the Running Raiders. A number of PR’s were achieved as well, with several runners dropping their times significantly. The girls were lead by the Freshman Triple Threat of Molly MacQueen, Ginny Clifford and Kaitlyn Feely who took the first three places far ahead of the competition. The next 6 spots also belonged to Trumansburg as Elizabeth Dawson, Melaina Bell, Faith de Castro, Wren Martinson, Malorie Conroy and Megan Feely sealed the win in a wave of Blue and Gold. The girls scored a perfect 15, the lowest score possible in XC.

Next up for TBXC is the pre-state meet this Saturday at Chenango Valley State Park. This meet is expected to be very competitive as the State Meet will be there later this season. 12 races and over 2600 runners are expected. The Raiders will look to keep their recent success rolling. Go Runnin; Raiders!
